Oatmeal Crisp Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
3 cups oatmeal (uncooked)
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 ½ cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup chopped nuts


Cream shortening, sugar, eggs, vanilla/ Add sifted dry ingredients, oats, nuts and mix well. Form into long rolls and refrigerate. Slice and Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
